After months of LC-MS/MS method development work with fenbendazole, I was exhausted. I had tried almost every brand name of HPLC columns and many different conditions, but I could not get a baseline separation for the two similar metabolites of fenbendazole. We had to still use Waters uBondapak C18 4.6mm x 300mm HPLC column.
With the recommendation from one of my US colleagues, I purchased a my colleague a Chrom-Matrix ZW&A C18 3um 10cm x 2.1mm column and was extremely happy about the improvement that it made in the chromatographic separation. It reduced the running time from 45 min to 6 min with even better baseline separation. The validation passed and we were accomplished with a great success.
